Who is this qualification for?
The City and Guilds 2357 NVQ assesses the skills you learned during your electrical training and whilst on-site.
This Electrical NVQ is available for individuals to complete their training route into the industry. It is aimed towards candidates who are still new to the sector and within the first five years of their working career.
If you have been working post training for more than five years then you should consider the experienced worker NVQ.
If you have been studying the 2357 at another provider and your enrolment has expired or you're seeking a new provider, then this NVQ is necessary. There may be additional training needed - such as the recently added environmental legislation Units - but we can support that included in the course at no extra cost. Any additional training is provided online through our online platform and you can study this when it suits you.
If you are just beginning your training journey then we recommend the 2365 Level 2 and Level 3 diploma.
The NVQ is carried out through a series of online meetings and an in-person observation, there is no classroom training needed.
Unlike many other centes we provide immediate support and access to the assessor. We can provide same day online meetings for progress updates or simply be on the end of the phone or instant messenger to provide forward planning and support.
Opportunities for progression
Learners who successfully complete the NVQ Level 3 as well as the occupational competence assessment (AM2), delivered by NET, will be judged to have met the eligibility requirements sufficient to apply for an ECS Card from the JIB in the occupation that they have qualified.
How long does the NVQ take?
Typically the NVQ can be completed somewhere between 6 to 18 months. If your range of work is varied then this may even be achievable sooner.
Assessment
This course is assessed through portfolio of evidence. The qualification is site-based and does not require attendance in centre. All meetings including the induction are carried out online; of course, you can always pop in to the Middlesbrough training centre for face to face meetings with your assessor if you prefer. The cost of this NVQ does not include the cost of the AM2 assessment which is required as your end-point assessment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS MAINLY AN ONLINE ASSESSMENT QUALIFICATION. THERE IS NO CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE AND SO THE DEC 2025 DATE IS JUST THERE FOR YOU TO ENROL.
